NIO's Battery As a Service (BaaS) has been recognized at the 2021 Fast Company World Changing Ideas awards.

Less than a year ago, in August 2020, NIO officially announced the BaaS program by taking advantage of the battery swapping features of all NIO models and the nationwide swap stations. We continue providing comprehensive services enabled by vehicle-battery separation, battery subscription, and chargeable, swappable, and upgradable batteries. NIO BaaS is a breakthrough innovation in both technology and business models. It allows users to have options to purchase a car without the battery.
